2011 in review

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2011 annual report for this blog.

I decided not to do the postaday challenge, choosing the postaweek challenge instead, so my stats are a lot

lower than many of you who opted for the daily challenge – and I take my hat off to you!

Here’s an excerpt:

The concert hall at the Syndey Opera House holds 2,700 people. This blog was viewed about 10,000 times in 2011.

(WP short-changed me there, because in actual fact, it was 11,104).

If it were a concert at Sydney Opera House, it would take about 4 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.

Click here to see the complete report.

The following details are in the report, but I want to make a special mention of my five most active commenters just incase some of you don’t click through to the report.

These were your 5 most active commenters:

Thank you Nancy, Elizabeth, Frizz, Raising Daisy and Tilly – you are awesome!

My thanks to all my blogging buddies for your support and friendship throughout the past year.

I appreciate each and every one of you.

Because you my blog has thrived!

  1. Hey Barb ….. cheers to 2012 and congratulations on your accomplishments last year. You’ve definitely been a big supporter of my page and I’m super grateful. Cheers to the new year and many, many blessings to you and yours.

    xo,
    Nicole @ Three 31

    • Thank you Nicole, and I wish you and yours all the best for 2012. Thanks also for your support on my page too, it’s much appreciated.
Your new blog looks like it’s off to a good start!

    • Thanks Donna for your visits to my blog, and for writing some awesome posts! You write from the heart, say what you feel and are a natural writer; your blog is so fresh and lively! :)
Here’s hoping 2012 is a better year for you.

  2. Congratulations sweet Barb! Your blog is amazing and there are people out there that just don’t know what they are missing…hope they find your blog this year. Thank you for all the times you have visited my blog and commented. Hugs

    • Thank you so much for saying that about my blog, I really appreciated hearing it. It’s that kind of encouragement we need to spur us on doing what we’re doing, so thanks again, and for all your support throughout the year.
You have an awesome blog too, I love reading about Chancy and the crew, they all feel so real to me, but Chancy is the star of the show – he is so cute and opinionated, I love him! His antics always bring a smile to my face!

  3. Congrats Barb! We all did it, made the one year mark. Day by Day or week by week what a sense of accomplishment. I love that you brought up the most commentors and I guess I have to learn how to do that. I do not know where to find that stat! LOL Happy New 2012! Best Friends with Pets in our lives… our connection. ♥Jackie

    • Yup, we made the one year mark Jackie, and it feels good to have achieved our goal!
That stat is in your review from WP – I just copied and pasted it.
Happy New Year Jackie, and I hope your hopes and dreams are fulfilled this year! x

  4. I am just calling by to wish you very
happy New Year in 2012 and also to
congratulate you on such a fangtastic
    year in 2011 :)

I hope 2012 is even better Barb :)

    Androgoth Xx

  5. I haven’t visited you before, Barb, but I see how you are connecting two passions – people and animals – so I figure I’ve missed out. Thanks for commenting on my blog today so I could come over here and discover you.

I’m very grateful to bloggers who post weekly or sporadically. Posting for the sake of posting can turn a blog into an email format.

  6. Barb, my report numbers were off by a smidge as well, but it was fun to look at and compare to the previous year. BTW, I love the new look on the blog! Happy 2012!

    • I think WP collated the stats well before the end of the year Jeanne, because everybody’s stats seem to be inaccurate. But no matter, it’s still good to see where we are and what we’ve accomplished for the past year!
Happy New Year to you too!

  7. Based on the number of posts and stats they showed on mine I figure they pulled the data for sometime earlier in December rather than waiting until the end of the year.

  8. That is totally awesome Barb, CONGRATULATIONS!!

I have seen a couple of blogs with this report on them, but I have no idea where to find it for my blog. I’d be interested to see what my stats are. Can you tell me where you found it?

Happy New Year, I wish you as much success this year as you had last year!

    • Thanks Jodi.
I received an email notification from WP and you should have got one if you are subscribed to wordpress.com.
If you’re not subscribed to their emails, you might have to go through your settings to add yourself. Hope you sort it.
Happy New Year to you too Jodi, and much success! :)

  9. I am ashamed not to be among your top commenters, because I am definitely a very frequent visitor! I will try to at least be more mindful of at least clicking the “like” button – I don’t know why I keep forgetting to do so, but you are not the only one for which I fail to do so!

I love, especially, the subject of your blog. Thanks you so much for your words, inspiring, delightful, and wonderful! Thank you also for visiting and comenting at RFACM! Your attention means a great deal.

Have a wonder 2012 – full of happy surprises and the love of our wonderful animal friends.

    • You blew me away with your comment dear Paula – your words really touched me; (I’m blushing!) Hearing how you feel about my blog spurs me on to write more! I don’t know what to say except “thank you” from the bottom on my heart. You made my day! {{{hugs}}}
Happy New Year to you and yours!

    • Thank you Elizabeth, you are my #2 commenter, and I appreciate all your support over the past year. Without people like you, our blogs wouldn’t survive. The inter-action on WP is fantastic!

  10. It’s been a pleasure reading each and every one of your posts, Barb ~ your focus on nature, pets, birds, kanga, roos, and Scotland is wonderful.

Glad you survived your move this year. Take advantage of those gorgeous walking trails along the water . . . and share your bounty with us!

    Happy New Year!

    • Nancy, you are my #1 commenter! What can I say? Only “thank you” for all of your support last year, you rock!
I never thought to take photos of the beach when I’m walking there, but since you have given me a nudge, I will try to remember!

    • Yeah, they have got the stats wrong with a lot of us, from what I have been reading so far.
Have you posted your review yet granny? I haven’t had a notification yet; I’m dying to see your stats.

  11. Hi barb19,
    Good on you.
There was a couple of mistakes in mine also, number or posts, and not all the links work, so I also did a cut and paste, mine is already to go for tomorrow. :)

  12. Wowzer! That’s a lot! I thought it was so nice of them to send that out … totally unexpected! Love your blog …and the animals too.

Thank you for this year … I’m truly happy to have connected with you!
    Hugs

    • Thanks Rebekah! It was a pleasant surprise that they did this for us.
Your blog is awesome and I’m so glad we connected and have become more than just blogging buddies; I have learned a lot from you my friend.
      {{{Hugs}}}
