Do Not Mess With Seniors

If you are a senior you will understand this one,

if you deal with seniors this should help you

understand them a little better,

and if you are not a senior yet……..

God willing, someday you will be. . . . .

My wife and I went to breakfast at a restaurant where the “Seniors’ Special” was two eggs, bacon, hash browns and toast for $2.99.

‘Sounds good,’ my wife said. ‘But I don’t want the eggs.’

‘Then, I’ll have to charge you $3.49 because you’re ordering a la carte,’ the waitress warned her.

‘You mean I’d have to pay for not taking the eggs?’ my wife asked incredulously.

‘YES!’ stated the waitress.

’I'll take the “Special” then,’ my wife said.

‘How do you want your eggs?’ the waitress asked.

‘Raw and in the shell,’ my wife replied.

She took the two eggs home and baked a cake!

DON’T MESS WITH SENIORS!!!

They’ve been around the block more than once!

Don’t you just love old people?

  1. That was one insensitive waitress. Where I ate breakfast like “IHOP” or “Denny’s” seniors are like celebrities. They gets the best deals, a cozy corner, and any revisions they want. I have high respect to seniors. They were young once and gave so much to the society and their family. And yes, one day, I want to have a breakfast that cost less but have a lot of possibilities. Have a sweet , blessed day …

    • Thanks Rachel, and welcome to my blog! I love the name of yours so I had to check it out and now you have a new follower – I have to get to know your little gang, they look like they are a lot of fun!

  2. I did a double-take at first Barb when I started reading about your ‘wife’…. then the penny dropped and I realised it was a joke! Good one.

  3. After managing a senior’s residence for three years, I learned a LOT about speaking up. So as humourous as these jokes about seniors are, I love them because often the nonsense we have going in society needs to be blown off. When any of us speak up, it makes tremendous sense! When seniors speak up, it provides an excellent role model. :D

  4. I have heard a similar story, but not the same punch line. I laughed at that one too. Having been a senior legally for some time now, I love hearing witty things in defence of seniors (and not against them). Thanks for the boost, Barb.

Penny for your thoughts . . .
