Duckling Rescue at it’s Best!
Mama Duck has had her babies on the window ledge of a bank, and the ledge is ten feet high!
She then flies off the ledge, expecting her babies to follow as they would in the wild – but this is not a soft, forest floor landing onto a pile of leaves – this is a landing on to a concrete sidewalk!
Watch this man from the Bank catch each duckling one after the other, as they jump off the ten feet high ledge – he’s a great catcher!
- See another clip of the same event.

We have a ton of them here and they cross the street boldly… sometimes with deadly consequences. Glad the man was compassionate.
He was a beautiful man to take the time to do what he did.
Acts like this inspires us that man can be kind , gentle and generous if he chooses it. Great post.
It was a wonderful act of humanity on that man’s part – truly inspirational for those looking on; wish I’d been there to experience it first hand.
What a wonderful human! Actually I think there are more good ones than bad ones. It’s the ones that ride the fence that bother me.
I hear what you are saying Rumpydog, you never know where you are with the ones who ride the fence. But this man’s actions put my faith back in human nature – there are more good ones than bad.
This was really wonderful. I agree – there is hope!
Thanks for popping by!
Isn’t it just amazing how mother duck waited around for her ducklings even when a human was involved. Beautiful story
Do you think they know when humans are trying to help them Rayya? I do!
Hey Barb. I definitely do
Barb, thank you so much for bringing our attention to the ducklings, this wonderful man and video…I just passed it along to family members. It’s very touching and a wonderful reminder to me to be aware of when there is need in the world and to be willing to do what I can to help out. Remarkable!
This wonderful man saw the need, and was there for the ducklings, what a beautiful heart he has! And then to guide the mother and her babies to water through the streets, was amazing. What a thrill it must have been to be there to witness the event!
Glad you shared it with family members.
Oh, that is such a beautiful story – I love happy endings, it was so nice to see them all in the water together!!
Have a fun day,
Your pal Snoopy
Thanks Snoopy; I love happy endings too – we are a couple of softies!
Barb,
Thanks so much for sharing this incredible video. Talk about a duck being in the wrong place, but at the right time! I’d like to repost it on my blog so more folks see this animal-loving banker. I’d change my accounts to his bank just because of this duck-adventure. Thank goodness he’s a good catch. Best, Janet
I love the fact that you want to repost it Janet – thank you!
It’s too good not to share!
Brings tears to my eyes.
Mine too, Jodi!
What a wonderful thing to do. We definitely need more people like that in this world.
There are still a lot of good people in this world!
Thanks Barbara for joining my journey.
Looking forward to reading your posts Pat!

It’s wonderful when people care about baby ducks . . .
Or an other living thing for that matter.
God bless that man! That was a wonderful thing to do.
He is a good man, that’s for sure.
That was beautiful and heartwarming …again, I begin to think that there’s hope [for the humans].
He sure was a good catcher, and that walk was marvellous!
Glad you enjoyed it Rebekah!
Wow, thanks for sharing that. That was amazing!! I would have been a nervous wreck trying to catch them, but he did it with such ease! And te walk to water – so cute!
