It’s my dog Poppy’s birthday today. She is 13 but she still acts like a puppy – well, most of the time! 

She is in for a special treat today, but doesn’t know it.  

Please come and enjoy her special day with us.

 

G’Day, I’m Poppy!

Wow, in the car early today with Mum, wonder where we’re going? Hope she hasn’t forgotten what day it is – it’s my birthday you know! She must be taking me somewhere special – yeah, that’s it!

 

This is my Auntie Kaye; she always gives me a Schmacko when I go to her house.

 

Auntie Kaye gave me big hugs

. . . and Mum gave me big hugs

. . . the bird was civil – he whistled Happy Birthday to me!

. . . twice!

Sheba and I played till we got tired

. . . so I crashed till it was time to go home

 POPPY!

. . . and a good day was had by all!

  1. Happy birthday POPPY….wow I wouldn’t have guessed she was 13…The only give away are her adorable shades of white fur on her face. Sounds like she had an awesome day full of love, attention and cuddles :-)

    • I really appreciate you popping over here Rayya because I know how busy you are. Poppy and I always look forward to your comments. She had a wonderful day but sadly, lost her pal Sheba last week; she got quite sick all of a sudden. She was 14.

    • We lost her sister at the age of 12, so we consider ourselves fortunate to still have Poppy – and she is still very healthy in spite of her old age!

  16. Oh, Poppy, you are so CUTE! You look like a cuddly dog, and I love cuddly dogs. My dog is Zoe, and she is also your age, and very puppy-like. She wishes you a happy birthday, too! She also wonders….. what’s a schmacko?

    • Schmacko is the brand of a doggie chew which come in three flavours – chicken, beef and liver. Most most dogs are crazy about them! We give them as treats to our dogs.
      Thanks for stopping by – now we found out we have something else in common – all through technology! How about posting some pics of Zoe? I’d love to see what she looks like. Poppy says thanks for the birthday wishes. :)

  21. We all had a wonderful time for Miss Poppy’s birthday. She had such a good time with her cousin Sheba. The good thing was, that after such a very active day, they both slept so well. Love you Miss Poppy. xxxx

    • Auntie Kaye, coming to your house is always a treat for Poppy, she loves you and Sheebs so much, but you made her birthday extra special, as only you could do! However, Poppy wants you to know that she never got a candle to blow out on one of those Lamingtons! Did we overlook that special moment? How neglectful! Hope she forgives us.
      We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for a wonderful day – in more ways that one. ;) xx

      • Her lamington was not overlooked. She had come quietly to me before, and told me she didn’t want a fuss… so I quietly (without mummy looking) gave her another schmacko instead. :) xx
